Post 16 students raised money for Macmillan cancer Relief by holding a 'coffee and cakes' morning on Friday 29th September.

On Friday 29 September, Post 16 students and academy staff joined forces to raise money for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Cancer Relief.

Bakers arrived early with their delicious goodies. Everything from rocky road and brownies to apple crumble, biscuits and salted caramel cupcakes were on offer.

Supplies quickly ran out, as students and staff supported the coffee morning. Along with funds from a raffle and a competition to guess the height of the pancakes, we managed to raise an amazing £201.30. This is a fantastic achievement and is testament to the generosity of both students and staff at the academy.

There was also a competition for students and staff bakes. The winner of the staff bake with her delicious greek orange pie was Mrs Charlton. Laura Duncan's strawberry cheesecake cupcakes were the clear winner of the student bake, however special mention has to go to Jacob Atkinson and Jack Walker for their dinosaur cake.

Thank you everyone for your contributions!
