I am delighted that you are interested in Macmillan Academy.

When the academy was set up just over 30 years ago, it had the following three aims:

  1. To ensure that students attending would be prepared for the world of work.
  2. To ensure that young people would be responsible and active citizens who would make moral decisions.
  3. To ensure that the school would play a key role in the community.
These aims are just as relevant for us today as they were 30 years ago.

We have high expectations of all of our students and they achieve great things whilst they are with us. We place an emphasis on academic success and personal development.

It is equally important for us that when students leave us they do so as well-rounded young people who are kind and considerate of others.

As such, we aim to make them truly global citizens who are aware of current affairs and international issues and who take responsibility for themselves, their environment and others.

Central to our ethos is ensuring that students are ready for their next steps, whatever they may be. We are proud of our links with universities and employers and we work hard with all of our students to ensure that they leave us with a positive destination.

Our greatest asset is our students; they are fantastic ambassadors for the academy and we are very proud of them.

If you would like to find out more about the academy then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
