We live in a in a diverse, multicultural country and we should lead the way in acceptance and tolerance of differences and encourage harmony and understanding.

We have three subject specific trained staff along with a member of staff in the humanities department. We have a variety of learning mentors that cater for the Personal Individual Plans (PIPs) of the students to meet their needs.

At key stage 3 students have 1 lesson a week. At Key stage 4 they have 3 lessons a week and at key stage 5 they have 5 lessons a week. Each lesson consists of an hour. Subject support is offered one lunch time for 30 minutes and one hour after school each week to offer guided support with student’s work.

• We want students to appreciate opposing views to given moral and ethical dilemmas people face today.

• To be aware of the ethical and moral issues and dilemmas in the media and the news.

• To practise all of the principles of Religious Studies outside of the classroom by being empathetic and showing compassion to others around them.
