Staff and students at the Academy are celebrating another fantastic set of Post 16 results. These results are a reflection of the hard work of students and the dedication of Post 16 teaching and support staff at the Academy.

Staff and students at Macmillan Academy are celebrating a superb set of Post 16 results. We are absolutely delighted that all Year 13 courses have a 100% pass rate. 56% of A level entries were graded at A*-B and a fantastic 77% of vocational entries were awarded the highest levels of Distinction* or Distinction. These results are a reflection of the hard work of students and dedication of Post 16 teaching and support staff at the academy.

Once again many students have been successful in reaching their first choice destinations. Students are going to universities far and wide, from the local universities of Teesside, Newcastle and Durham to those further afield such as Northampton, Coventry and Queen Mary's. Equally, students have opted to study a real range of courses including: marketing, paramedic science, media and journalism, and international fashion promotion as well as the more traditional subjects. Alongside those students going to university, it is pleasing that in such a competitive labour market, several students have gained employment and apprenticeships.

Whilst the Academy is proud of the achievements of all students, there were some exceptional individual results. Wajahat Ali gained A*s in chemistry, mathematics, and physics and an A in further mathematics. He is now going to study chemical engineering at the University of Manchester. Jake Whitfield gained A* grades in biology and French and an A grade in history. He will study law at the University of Nottingham. Harry Ingledew is off to the University of Newcastle to study medicine after gaining 3 A grades. Thomas Jones gained an A*, two A grades and a B grade. He will study physics at the University of Oxford. Furthermore, Patrick Seargeant gained an A* and three A grades. He will study engineering at the University of Durham. Usamah Malik will study chemistry at the University of Newcastle after gaining an A*, two A grades and a B grade.

Students following vocational courses also achieved impressive results with the following gaining exceptionally high grades in their chosen courses: Keeley Hill, Asad Hussain, Henna Saleem, Jess Sawdon, Amreen Ayub, Katie Dean, Nancy Harker, Nafeesa Hussain, Hannah Trafford, Jessica Young, Safia Zaroof, Bara Al Miaari, Wala Al Miaari, Maryam Babakarkhel, Natalia Iqbal and Faisal Mughal.
