One of the highlights of the school year returned to Macmillan recently as over 500 Key Stage 3 students took part in the exciting STEM Roadshow.
The Education Roadshow, established in 2005 and delivered nationally by BAE Systems, the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy, is designed to bring STEM subjects to life through engaging and interactive performances. Now in its 21st year, the Roadshow continues to inspire young people to explore the possibilities of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
This year’s production, Material World – Engineering the Future, focused on the fascinating world of materials science. Through a fast-paced blend of live theatre, science demonstrations and storytelling, students discovered how everyday materials are shaping future technologies and innovations.
Throughout the show, students explored how STEM skills are used in engineering, manufacturing, technology and aerospace industries. They also learned how creativity, problem-solving and teamwork play a vital role in developing new ideas and solutions.
The Roadshow provided an engaging opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications while gaining valuable insight into the exciting career pathways available within STEM industries.
A huge thank you to the Education Roadshow team for another inspiring visit. We look forward to welcoming them back to Macmillan in the future.
