This Saturday marks World Mental Health Day, providing an important opportunity to remind everyone that looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health.
At Macmillan Academy, student wellbeing remains a priority throughout the year. While we will be delivering a number of wellbeing-focused activities later in the academic year, we would like to take this opportunity to remind students that support is always available.
Students who have any worries or concerns are encouraged to speak to a trusted adult, including their tutor, teachers, members of the pastoral team or other staff within school. No problem is too small, and talking to someone can often be the first step towards getting the right support.
There are also a number of external organisations available to help young people, including Childline, local CAMHS services, and mental health crisis support teams.
Remember: you are not alone, support is available, and talking helps.
If you are worried about yourself or a friend, please reach out and speak to someone. Together, we can continue to create a supportive school community where everyone feels valued, listened to and safe.
