A group of 30 Year 10 and 11 students recently visited Amazon’s Fulfilment Centre at Wynyard for an inspiring careers event delivered in partnership with MyBigCareer and Amazon staff.
The visit was designed to support female students in exploring future career opportunities and developing the skills needed to achieve their aspirations. Throughout the day, students met a range of successful female leaders working within Amazon Operations, gaining valuable insight into different career pathways and learning about the experiences that helped shape their professional journeys.
Â
Students also took part in activities focused on employability skills, including communication, personal branding and interview techniques. These sessions highlighted the important connection between academic success and future career opportunities, while helping to build confidence, motivation and self-belief.
Â
The experience provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage with industry professionals, ask questions and gain a greater understanding of the wide range of careers available within a global organisation.
Â
We would like to thank Amazon and MyBigCareer for hosting such an informative and inspirational event and for encouraging our students to aim high and consider the many opportunities available to them in the future.
