Our students and their families once again made the most of an inspiring Higher Ideas Exchange 2026 event.
This year’s evening brought together an exciting range of universities, specialists, and higher education providers, offering invaluable opportunities to explore pathways beyond Post 16 study, with the event creating an opportunity to gather key insights into the journey ahead.
Students from Year 9, KS4, and Post 16 attended the event, taking part in meaningful conversations with university representatives and learning more about the skills, qualifications, and experiences that are needed to support successful transitions into higher education.
Our students and their families had direct access to universities from across the UK. Alongside local providers, we welcomed a wide range of universities from further afield, including:

Building on previous years, the 2026 event expanded even further with the addition of specialist subject pathways, including:
- Medical and Health Sciences experts from Newcastle University
- Engineering and Technology advisors offering guidance on emerging STEM careers
- Creative Industries representatives highlighting new routes into digital arts, media, and design
Students had the opportunity to ask questions, compare courses, and gain fresh insight into the application process helping them make confident, informed decisions about their future.
