On Wednesday, the academy had the exciting opportunity to host the renowned author Steve Skidmore, who captivated Year 7 students with his engaging and hilarious assembly.

With a mix of wit and storytelling, Skidmore introduced students to his vibrant collection of books, sparking their imaginations and making them laugh along the way. The assembly was filled with interactive segments, and even a few surprises, leaving the students buzzing with enthusiasm for reading and writing.

Following the assembly, Steve held a writing workshop for a smaller group of students eager to delve deeper into the art of storytelling. During the workshop, he shared valuable tips on how to craft compelling narratives, inspiring each student to find their unique voice as a writer.  By the end of the day, students left not only with newfound knowledge and inspiration but also with a greater appreciation for the magic of storytelling.
