Our Year 11 photography students recently visited Preston Park for a practical photography session as part of their GCSE coursework.
The visit provided students with the opportunity to gather a range of images that will contribute to their current unit of work focusing on decay.
This theme explores the textures, patterns and visual beauty found in aging, weathering and decomposition, encouraging students to discover artistic value in both natural and man-made environments.
Preston Park proved to be an excellent location for the project, offering a variety of inspiring backdrops. From the historic Victorian Street to the beautiful gardens and museum exhibitions, students were able to capture a wide range of subjects that linked closely to their coursework theme.
The trip not only allowed students to develop their technical photography skills but also encouraged them to think creatively about composition, texture and storytelling through images. We look forward to seeing how the photographs taken during the visit are developed and incorporated into their final coursework portfolios.
