IMPORTANT: DO NOT MISS OUT ON FREE SCHOOL MEALS FROM SEPTEMBER 2026
From September the Government are introducing changes to the free school meals eligibility process:
- Free school meals is being expanded to all households receiving Universal Credit
- Free school meals entitlement no longer continues for the time you are in school, we are required to re-check your eligibility in advance of each academic year.
If you are currently receiving free school meals, or you think you may be eligible under the new rules, you MUST complete the online form (sent out to parents/carers via email) to re-apply, otherwise your entitlement will end on 31 August 2026. To perform the check we need name, address, postcode, date of birth and national insurance number of one parent/carer living in the same house as the pupil.
The checks will be carried out by our FSM service over the summer holidays, if you are no longer eligible for Free School Meals this will be communicated to you in advance of the new term.
Please complete the online form by Friday 3 July 2026. Please note if you have more than one child, you will need to complete a separate form for each child at the academy.
If you would like any support in completing this form, we will be holding drop-in sessions on Monday 29 June and Thursday 2 July at the academy. Please report to main reception anytime between 07:30-15:00.
