Stress Awareness Month

April 1, 2026

Today marks the start of Stress Awareness Month, a time for our school community to focus on wellbeing and take simple, positive steps to manage everyday stress.

We all experience stress in different ways. For some, it might be linked to schoolwork or exams, while for others it can come from things outside the classroom. This month is about recognising those pressures and finding small, practical ways to look after ourselves.
To support this, we are encouraging students to take part in a 30-day wellbeing challenge, inspired by a calendar of simple daily activities . Each day offers something different, from reminding yourself to smile and taking time away from technology, to getting outside, trying something new, or spending time with friends and family. There are also opportunities to reflect, such as listing things you are grateful for or recognising your own strengths.
The idea is not to add pressure, but to build healthy habits in a realistic and enjoyable way. Some activities take just a few minutes, while others encourage you to slow down and take a proper break. Even small actions, like going for a walk, listening to your favourite music, or simply allowing yourself time to rest, can make a real difference.
We would like all students to get involved and try as many of the challenges as possible. You might choose a few that suit you, or you might take on the full 30-day challenge. Who will manage to complete them all?
Throughout the month, staff will be supporting students and encouraging open conversations about stress and mental health. It is important that everyone knows they are not alone, and that there is always someone to talk to, whether that is friends, family, or school staff.
Stress Awareness Month is a reminder that wellbeing matters. By taking small, consistent steps, we can all build better habits and support each other along the way.
