Macmillan Annual Jobs Fair 2026: Opening Doors to the Future Across the Tees Valley
The 2026 Annual Jobs Fair at Macmillan proved to be one of our most dynamic and impactful events yet, bringing together more than 50 employers from across the Tees Valley who were eager to showcase their organisations and the growing range of career opportunities available to our students. The evening once again demonstrated the power of partnership between education and our local community, helping students, families, and employers connect in such a meaningful way.
A Growing Hub of Opportunity in the Tees Valley
This year’s fair highlighted the rapidly expanding career landscape across the Tees Valley, with businesses representing established industries as well as emerging sectors shaped by regional investment and regeneration. Employers from engineering, health and social care, digital technology, renewable energy, finance, retail, public services, and creative industries were on hand to offer insights into apprenticeships, full-time roles, internships, and pathways into growing local industries.
With the Tees Valley continuing to see growth through developments in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and digital innovation, students had the chance to explore opportunities that are shaping the future of the region.
Engaging Students from Year 9 to Year 13
One of the highlights of this year’s event was the mix of students who attended. Open to students from Year 9 through Year 13, the fair offered something for every stage of the career exploration journey. Younger students were able to gather early inspiration and understand how their current subjects link to future pathways.
Older students, particularly those in Year 11 and Year 13, engaged in purposeful discussions with employers about next steps, including apprenticeships, work placements, and employment opportunities.
Many families also attended, demonstrating the shared commitment to supporting students in planning for their futures.
Building Connections That Shape Futures
Throughout the evening, conversations flowed between students and employers, with our students being praised for their confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm. Both students and their families expressed how valuable it was to speak directly with local professionals who are passionate about developing young talent.
Whether students were seeking part-time work, exploring Post 16 options, or securing opportunities for life after Year 13, the fair provided access to a range of high-quality, local pathways, many right on their doorstep in the Tees Valley.
Looking Forward: A Bright Future for Macmillan Students
Events like this play a vital role in helping young people make informed decisions, discover new interests, and gain confidence about their future. As the Tees Valley continues to grow and diversify, we look forward to offering even more opportunities for our students to connect with local employers and shape their next steps.
Thank you to all employers, partners, students, and families who contributed to the success of the 2026 Jobs Fair. We can’t wait to see the positive impact of the connections formed and look forward to growing this event even further in the years ahead.
