Parents are encouraged to use this booklet in discussions with their son/daughter.
Wednesday 24th February
Students are introduced to the subject choice process in Assembly.Wednesday 3rd March
Subject teacher consultation evening (STCE). Students are to make appointments for parents to see their individual subject teachers. There will also be an opportunity to speak to staff about particular subjects relating to the GCSE/BTEC courses in Years 10 and 11.
During the evening, three Senior Leaders, Mr Stanton, Mr Robley and Mr Stott will be available in the Reception area to answer any questions you may have. The careers team will also be available to offer information, advice and guidance. Should you wish to make a private appointment to discuss your child’s options, please contact Ms Cook or ask you son/daughter to arrange an appointment. Ms Cook is based in the Careers Library.
It is crucial that parents attend this evening in order to speak to teachers to seek up to date information on their child's progress.
Monday 15th March to Friday 26th March
During this period, all students and parents will be invited to a discussion with a member of our senior staff to discuss possible choices. You are encouraged to attend this meeting, as together we determine the most appropriate course of action. Students should bring their Career Action Plans to these meetings.Monday 29th March
All Subject Choice Forms returned to College (Subject Choice forms have been distributed with this booklet).
By this date all choice forms MUST be returned to the senior member of staff who has discussed the choices with the student/parents. In most instances, the form will have been already collected at the discussion.
