Rediscovering an author I first read as a child. Frederick Marryat aka Captain Marryat was a prolific writer who specialised in adventure stories for boys. His early life was spent in the Royal Navy and several of his books are set against this background. He lived and wrote in Victorian times so the language can be a bit of a stretch.
