A Level students - use the I drive to help you revise. I have updated my files so you can now have access to all the materials I have used in class. Top tip: go over the past paper and end of unit tests (and mark schemes) to make sure you are familiar with how questions are structured and what the examiner is wanting.

The final game of my 5 year management of the year 11 boys football team was away to King’s Academy in the league. It was a poor first half by our standards even though we scored first with a well worked move down the left hand side and a clinical finish from Greg Stubley. Unfortunately we were nopt tight enough to the King’s Academy players and twice allowed them to score with well weighted passes that split our defence.
The second half was a different story as Macmillan dominated possession and had several chances to equalise. That equaliser finally arrived with Greg Stubley being provider with a perfect cross that Khalim Mansha struck into the top corner. Our solid defending and battling in midfield maintained great pressure and led to many more chances. Khalim Mansha stretched to head a crossed ball from the left but only managed to get a slight touch and take it off the head of the oncoming Dhanish Hussain. Another clear cut opportunity fell again to Khalim who only had to head the ball over the oncoming keeper to score. Unfortunatley he never connected well enough. Some excellent passing and moving put Ben Dickenson through on the keeper, but too much time on the ball allowed the keeper to rush out and get a block in. In spite of some hefty challenges the boys maintained their composure and continued to pile on the pressure. Alas it was all too little too late as the final whistlee was blown with the score tied at 2 - 2.
Finally I would like to thank all of the squad and congratulate them on their development over the five years. Good luck with your future playing careers.

Match report
Macmillan vs Ormesby
The game started off slowly with Macmillan dominating, but with a lucky break Ormesby gained possession and played a ball through the Macmillan back 4 and the striker slid the ball past the goalkeeper into the back of the net making it 1-0 to Ormesby. Through out the game it was mixed possession with both teams having multiple chances but could not execute. Macmillan had 2 great chances in the first half from Khalim Mansha, one of which he volleyed just over the bar after receiving the ball off Dhanish Hussain. In the second half Macmillan had another great chance to equalize from a through ball from Dale Hopson to Gregory Stubley. Greg was 1 on 1 with the keeper but unluckily he just put the ball past the post making the game tenser. As the final whistle approached Macmillan came back with a brilliant through ball to Dale Hopson who skillfully dribbled the ball round the keeper and tapped the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1. The score remained 1-1 until the end of the game forcing the match into extra time.
In the first half of extra time Macmillan gained possession of a free kick in their own half which Karl Lidster beautifully kicked towards Dhanish Hussain on the right hand side. Dhanish brought the ball down with a great touch and he took it to the byline before lobbing it into the middle of the goal. To the delighted of Macmillan the keeper was caught off guard by the flight of the ball and it dropped just under the bar into the goal to make it 2-1 to Macmillan. Suddenly after this goal Ormesby went on the attack and crossed the ball into the box. The ball scrambled around before finding the Ormesby striker at the back post who struck it from close range with power. Macmillan’s goalkeeper David Burns spread himself well to block the ball with his leg before making a consecutive save as the ball rebounded to another Ormesby player. Yet again the ball broke to an Ormesby player but ‘hero’ status was secured as David Burns kept Macmillan in the lead by bravely throwing himself in front of the shot and saving the ball with his face. In the second half of extra time Macmillan made it 3-1 relieving the tension This goal scorer this time was by Gregory Stubley who ran on to a ball put over the Ormesby back 4 from Dale Hopson. Gregory took it down, went past the defender and while on the turn struck the ball with his left foot into the back of the net. The final score was 3-1 to Macmillan who retained the Town cup.

Goal scorers - Dale Hopson, Dhanish Hussain and Greg Stubley. A triple and a double save from David Burns kept us in front as Ormesby pressed for the equaliser.
