The BTEC business qualifications are designed to provide work-related qualifications as well as providing career development opportunities.

Health and Social Care

This consists of units of work to develop your understanding and skills in a variety of subjects, e.g communication, anatomy and physiology, public health and psychology.


ICT is everywhere. The use of ICT is moving at such a fast pace that people without relevant skills are being left behind. Every industry will use ICT in some capacity and employers are looking for highly trained young professionals who have relevant ICT skills.


These qualifications will enable you to develop the essential knowledge and skills needed for building a career in the sports industry with a specific focus on sports development, coaching and fitness.


We believe we are the best Sixth Form provider in the local area. But don’t just take our word for it. Our results speak for themselves. In 2016 we had a 100% pass rate with 55% of our A level entries being A*-B grade.

Cultural Trip to New York

On Sunday 19 February 32 Post 16 students and 4 staff headed off on the first Post 16 visit to New York City. After a flight from Manchester to JFK airport the group were ready to see the sights and sounds of New York.

Macmillan Academy has recently made a meaningful community connection to Middlesbrough’s Marks and Spencer, who have gladly accepted an ongoing commitment to provide work experience to Year 12 Hospitality students.
