Getting involved In School

We provide an extensive programme full of opportunities to allow you to broaden your experiences and develop skills in order to equip yourself effectively for later life, including community work, opportunities for work experience and visits to events.

You will contribute significantly to the life of the school and the broader community during your time with us through involvement in whole school events and productions. Being an 11 to 18 school means that as a sixth form student you can accept positions of responsibility and become a role model for younger students, working in classrooms, or coaching and supporting students as they progress through school.

This is organised and facilitated through our comprehensive Getting Involved programme.

Student Ambassadors play a vital role throughout the year – hosting parents’ evenings, guided tours and other events.

Teaching assistants, reading buddies, helping out in learning support and at sporting events – all roles taken up throughout the year.

We are also proud to have cemented links with a local primary school, where Post 16 students have been involved in some quite diverse roles, such as Key Stage 1 football club, reading partners, working in the Foundation stage and working with students who have English as an additional language.

Being a subject expert enables Year 13 students to pass on their knowledge and experience of their chosen subject to others who are thinking about coming to the academy.

We believe we are the best Sixth Form provider in the local area. But don’t just take our word for it, in 2017 one in three A level grades was awarded either an A or A*.
