Life after Post 16

Our students are well prepared for life beyond the Macmillan Academy.

We are very proud of the fact that despite the current economic climate, of our last year's leavers, 100% secured places the university of their choice, or went straight into full-time employment/training. There is an expectation that you will aim high and that we will do all we can to support those aspirations, through dedicated personalised support and excellent careers and HE advice.

You will be supported all the way through the UCAS applications process and we will help ensure your personal statements really show what you have to offer. We also offer personalised advice to individuals applying for competitive courses such as medicine and have a Gifted and Talented co-ordinator who supports with Oxbridge applications and offers interview practice.

University Links

We are proud of our links with local and regional universities. Not only do we are we a member of the Teesside University Passport scheme but we also are pleased to be a PARTNERs member with Newcastle University. You will be given more information on these schemes when you start your studies.

Experts from Teesside University regularly visit the academy to give presentations and pass on advice and information regarding student finance and applying to higher education.

In addition to this, you will be able to access University Open Days for those universities a bit farther afield.

We believe we are the best Sixth Form provider in the local area. But don’t just take our word for it. Our results speak for themselves. In 2016 we had a 100% pass rate with 55% of our A level entries being A*-B grade.
