Macmillan Post 16
Care, support and guidance is undoubtedly a strong feature of Post 16 at Macmillan.
We believe that by respecting and valuing all members of our sixth form community, and by providing the right balance of challenge and support, everyone can achieve success.
We regularly review your progress against expectations and ensure systems are put in place to support you should you fall behind. The Post 16 team will monitor your overall academic progress and ensures that support is provided to help you achieve the very best results. Your pastoral tutor will provides day to day contact, monitoring and support, along with academic tutoring meetings, and there is learning support & SEN help where needed.
We are able to provide assistance to those students most in need of financial help through the 16-19 Bursary Fund. Below are some of the ways in which we have assisted students in Post 16:
The application process is simple, quick and confidential. If we can help you, we will. For 16-19 year old students
£1,200 per year bursary is available for students in, or previously in care, or for those in receipt of income support.
All students in 2017/2018with a household income up to £21,000 per annum could receive assistance by any of the means mentioned above.
We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being and safety of our students. To further promote this, we work closely with Alliance Psychological Services, an NHS-based confidential service that is readily accessible to students.
Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger than to a relatives or friends. During these sessions, Tina, our trained counsellor from Alliance Psychological Services listens to you and helps you find your own answers to problems without judging you.
