Adventure Day

Rock Climbing

Our curriculum has at its heart; collaborating, questioning, imagining, reasoning, persevering, empathising and reviewing.

"At its core, the outdoor learning department was created to run exciting and challenging courses for our students. All of these courses aim to increase student confidence, create a positive ethos of teamwork and instil a desire to achieve through personal challenge. "Outdoor Learning

Risk Management

Rock Climbing

The rock climbing adventure days become progressively more challenging with students starting off climbing indoors developing the basic climbing skills such as belaying and tying the fig 8 knot as well as their climbing technique. As the students’ progress, they will move onto climbing harder grades indoors and eventually moving to climbing outdoors on real rock.

Students will have the opportunity to potentially climb at different climbing venues around Teesside and the North York Moors.
