Our core staff come from the outdoor learning sector, bringing the technical skills and qualifications to lead our students in the outdoors. They are outdoor leaders, who know how to balance the skills of teaching, facilitation & coaching to maximise the learning opportunities for our students. There is an extended team of qualified staff who support the programme.
As well as the dedicated full time instructors, the academy also utilises other members of staff to deliver elements of the outdoor learning programme. Mr Morris, Mr Storer from maths, Mr McVeigh from Design & Technology and Mr Bede from ICT have all gained nationally recognised qualifications to help deliver a range of activities including climbing, mountain biking, archery and expeditions. These staff help offer a fantastic breadth of activity.
