A group of year 8 students were invited to attend the Choose Your Future Event at Teesside University. The event was to inspire young people to think about career options and higher education.

A group of year 8 students were invited to attend the Choose Your Future Event at Teesside University. The event was to inspire young people to think about career options, as well as to increase awareness of the breadth of courses offered within higher education.

The students began their day networking with university departments. Here they were able to speak directly with under graduates about their choice of studies and career aspirations. The students then chose workshops, which focused on numerous career sectors including- law, crime, sport, health, business, computer hacking and fashion.

The day was busy and informative, with students collecting information not just on university studies, but life as a student at university. As the photos demonstrate, Macmillan Academy students fully embraced each activity and left feeling excited about their future.
