On Wednesday 26th April Jeff Rich, from the legendary band Status Quo, attended the academy to run a percussion workshop for students in years 7-10.

On Wednesday 26th April Jeff Rich, from the legendary band Status Quo, attended the academy to run a percussion workshop for students in years 7-10 who have instrumental lessons or are committed to an academy ensemble.

Jeff began by explaining how he got into the music business and emphasised that students need to do a lot of hard work and be very committed to achieve a successful career. He also explained how the drum has been developed and students got to try a range of drums beginning with an African drum to a limited edition snare drum.


The session culminated in all students performing with Jeff and some students even getting to play on Jeff's drum kit (which he has taken all over the world) and even receiving some feedback from the drumming legend himself!
