The annual Sports Presentation Awards evening was once again a huge success. It was a pleasure to celebrate all of our students' achievements over the past academic year.

The annual Sports Presentation Awards evening was once again a huge success with over 250 students and parents in attendance. It was an absolute pleasure to celebrate all of our students' achievements over the past academic year including players of the season, most improved players and outstanding contributions made to each sport. It was also very fitting to mention the successes of the many elite performers who are competing on a national and international basis in a variety of sports. It is amazing how many we have here at Macmillan Academy.

The evening was closed with an excellent and inspirational key note speech by Olympic weight lifter Sarah Davies who spoke about striving to be the best version of yourself that you can be. She also talked about how successful people open themselves up to being bullied by others who are jealous. She maintained that if you stay mentally strong you can overcome this to reach your true potential. It was a pleasure to have Sarah as our guest of honour and this tied in nicely with the 'This Girl Can' project which is currently being launched by the physical education department.
