This year a total of three students completed the standard level and five students achieved the advanced level. In addition, Year 13 student Jacob Bacon received a Special Recognition Award for volunteering in the library on a daily basis and assisting library staff for many years. All our students were presented with their certificates by the author of the popular series 'Scream Street', Tommy Donbavand.

The Student Librarian Scheme requires students to volunteer to work in the library during their morning or lunch time breaks. They are required to complete practical tasks, a set of worksheets, and produce various guides and posters as evidence of the knowledge they have gained. In addition to library skills, students also gain valuable communication, organisational, customer care, team-working, mentoring and information literacy skills. All our students demonstrated their commitment and reliability to the library and produced work of a very high standard.

The library is now recruiting new student librarians so if you are interested please see Mrs Burns or Mrs Appleton.
