Macmillan Academy students were invited to attend a business breakfast event for WSP Future Ready Tees Valley.

Over 60 leaders from global and local companies met to discuss a diverse range of themes including Building Communities, Industrial Digitalisation, Ports of the Future, Transport Futures, Future Construction and Clean Growth.

Our students were offered a prestigious insight into networking, at a very high level. The morning session investigated regeneration and posed the question, "How can existing assets be upgraded to meet future climate and needs?" Presentations focused on regeneration and infrastructure within Tees Valley and how we can prepare for being future ready.

Our Year 9 students shook hands with business leaders and were able to offer their view point on green environment issues, sustainability and climate change. As they were the only young people there, it was a unique chance to have their ideas heard and to be able to speak with passion about how they feel about the future of Teesside.
