Life Skills
The Macmillan Academy Lifeskills course is designed to help students prepare themselves for the challenges of later life.
We develop personal organisation, communication, goal setting and problem solving skills which is are essential for the future challenges outside of Macmillan Academy.
We look to raise self-esteem and confidence in our students, giving them a variety of differing challenging environments in and out of the classroom.
Our Macmillan Academy Lifeskills programme at Key Stage 4 combines excitement, challenge, with adventure and makes the clear connection between learning and achievement.
It allows the student to build on their own skills at their pace in a small class. While they are learning, they will have fun visiting new places and trying lots of new activities. The students will have support in the class and out of class if they need it. Students will develop their self confidence and have the opportunity to try vocational options and a work placement to help them make realistic choices about their future.
