cOMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
The Academy hosts a number of Community based activities on the site. These are often out of normal school hours and at weekends. Some of the main activities are listed below.
MIDDLESBROUGH YOUTH THEATRE
This thriving theatre group use the refurbished Academy Theatre and Drama rooms every Saturday morning for rehearsals and training. Full details are at their web site.
JUBILEE CHURCH
The Jubilee Church Teesside, which formed in 1998, use the Academy Reception building every Sunday for their meetings with over 300 members in the congregation. The Dining Hall is converted for their use and six other rooms are used for specific meetings and classes. In addition, the Church hold prayer meetings on Sunday evenings. Army Cadets
There is an active Army Cadet unit (Combined Cadet Force - CCF) based at the Academy. The cadets use Academy facilities on two evenings each week. Their Headquarters are based at the TA Centre, Stockton Road, Middlesbrough.
Attendance Centre
The Academy provides sports and classroom facilities for the Home Office who run an attendance centre at the Academy every second Saturday.
Macmillan Academy Enterprises (MAE)
A number of community based activities are managed through MAE including cricket coaching, archery classes, 5-a-side football clubs, a fitness suite and all weather pitches. A local climbing club also use our new climbing wall.
