Global Perspectives

The Global Perspectives course takes a wide range of global issues and encourages students to develop their critical thinking skills.

Students will identify their own perspective on an issue and will develop their ability to recognise and respect the points of view of others too.  The perspectives they will consider are:

  • Local – me and my town
  • National  - my country
  • Global – the world

Students will also learn to distinguish between fact and opinion in order to understand the reasons for a particular point of view and the factors that influence that opinion.  They will consider the reliability of evidence and use their skills to explore the significance of key issues.
