About the CaVEs Experience

The purpose of this mini site is to help Year 9 students make an informed choice about which CaVEs to apply for.

CaVEs are Cultural and Vocational Experiences.  They are designed to give students a new dimension to academy life and take place in the week beginning 7th  July.

First introduced in Summer 2007, they give  students a chance to develop their own special interests.  For a whole week students work in a small group studying a particular area.

The choices have been designed to give students time to get immersed in one activity and to develop their critical skills which are so useful when studying in Key Stage 4. Above all, CaVEs should be FUN.

Year 9 students can use this site to apply to be enrolled on a CaVE.  As some CaVEs are likely to be oversubscribed students are asked to choose three CaVEs in order of preference. We hope to be able to allocate all students to one of these choices.

You can view highlights from last year's CaVE activities by clicking on the video to your left.

The video has interviews with staff and students from all of the CaVE activities and should give you a good insight into what you can expect this year.

Thankyou
