Post 16 | How to Apply

Students who are currently studying at Macmillan Academy

If you are currently studying at Macmillan Academy and would like to continue your studies in Post 16 Education, you will be given an application form by your Personal Tutor.  To make sure you have chosen the most suitable courses you will be invited to attend a 1:1 careers appointment with the Academy Careers Adviser to discuss your options.  You will then be invited to attend a taster day in February which is followed by an interview by a member of the Senior Leadership Team to confirm your Post 16 choices.  All students who have decided that Macmillan Academy is their first choice will be invited to a Bridging Course in July followed by enrolment once they have received their GCSE results in August.

Pick up an application pack at the Year 11 –12 Open Evening on Thursday 1 November.

Once we have received your application form we will invite you to attend an interview so that we can discuss your career goals and suitable Post 16 courses.  This interview will take place after your normal school day so it will not interfere with your studies.  Students who receive a place to study at Post 16 will be invited to attend a Bridging Course in July followed by enrolment once they have received their GCSE results.
