Our Commitment to Sustainability

The Academy Mission statement was redrafted in September 2006 to incorporate our commitment to sustainability, where “We wish to keep environmental issues as a priority.  We also support a wider sustainability agenda.  Students will be encouraged to understand the personal, local national and international implications of not doing so”

One aspect of this is our involvement with the Eco Schools Project.  The Eco Schools programme provides a simple framework to enable the Academy to analyse its operations and become more sustainable.  By following the Eco Schools programme we will put in place a series of initiatives to become a more stimulating place in which to learn and to reduce environmental impact of the whole school on the community.
