Macmillan Academy are pleased to report another successful year for Post 16 students. Jordan Harker leads the achievement with 4 A grades and 1 B grade and goes to Durham to read History.

WELCOME TO I.C.T

You will look at the use of Information Technology and you will become familiar with the software used in the Academy and will have access to the software normally only used by Post 16 students.

The Academy has some of the best IT facilities in any north east England school. The 500 station Windows 2000 network runs all the latest business software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visual Basic, Front Page, Macromedia and Access. Facilities are available for fast Internet use. You will also be encouraged to use a full range of multimedia and e-learning software.

There are several computing courses available to you at Post 16 - ‘A’ Level Computing, ‘A’ Level ICT, GCE in applied ICT

Syllabus

ICT, is essentially a practical course . You will spend your time finding out how to use computers and will develop your skills and knowledge and will learn about the latest developments in ICT.
